Time for another round of
"getting to know you".
1. Did you have troll dolls?
Yep. LOVED my troll dolls. It was the best of times to go to the Sears and Roebuck toy department and buy them new outfits.
2. When was the last time you said, "oh, I can make that for a lot less".
I don't know that I've ever said that. If I did, it was probably in reference to some sort of food we were eating in a restaurant.
3. What has been your most difficult knit or crochet project this year?
Hands down . . . the Ashton Shawlette. I finally gave up on it (for now). I just don't have the brain power to deal with it at this point.
It is gorgeous though .
I will attempt it again soon.
4. Have you ever broken a toe?
Yes. Several times. I broke my big toe last year by tripping over a handicap ramp. Yes, the irony is NOT lost on me. I've also broke the sesimoid bones in my foot (the base of your big toe) kick boxing at the gym and while playing volleyball in bare feet I slid and broke a toe.
5. Name a children's author or picture book that you love.
The pencil drawings in this book are simply amazing. The play on words make the book interesting to adults as well as children (the doctor is called the "general ratitioner"). The story is told from the perspective of city rats vs. wharf rats and is loosely based on Hitler's invasion of Poland. The lesson to be taught is that all rats (people) are equal.
It is not a new book, but continues to be quite timely and topical.
It's a book I read to the fourth graders when I substitute taught.
6. Who is the last cousin you have seen or had contact with?
I have not had contact with most of my cousins in over 50 years. I did visit with someone I had considered a cousin a few years ago when we travelled to Arizona. I found out she really wasn't a blood relative. She was the daughter of my uncle's wife, but he never adopted her. So, while we weren't REALLY cousins, I always considered her one.
I think one of the cousins may have come to my father's funeral back in 1988, but I don't remember talking to her. My sister said she was there. Can't prove it by me.
Our family is somewhat fractured to say the least. We can thank my mother for that. She was like Mikey of Life cereal fame . . . she hated every
7. Name a blog you will visit today.
Mine? Yours? The twenty or so blogs in my Feedly reader?
8. When was the last time you read a nutrition label?
Yesterday. Being diabetic I read a lot of food labels. Not to say I always make perfect choices, but I try.
9. What is the last thing you used change (coins) for?
Magazines at the Barnes & Noble a few days ago. I paid the exact amount in cash.
10. Do you have a digital antennae?
No. We have digital cable from an Xfinity. If I did have an antennae last week, I surely wouldn't still have one today.
